Abersoch is a village and popular coastal resort in Gwynedd, Wales. It is situated near to Mynytho, Llanbedrog, Garn Fadryn, Nefyn, Rhiw, and Pwlhelli and is one of nearly one hundred towns and villages in Gwynedd in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest main cities are Bangor (population 15,280), Newport (population 116,143), and Swansea (which has a population of 169,880 according to the 2001 Census).
Abersoch faces east on the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula, and is so named because the Afon Soch river enters the sea here. Once a fishing port Abersoch has developed into a popular centre for watersports such as dinghy sailing, jet-skiing and windsurfing. Nearby beaches are also popular with surfers.
